Wega stationery, gifts and books is an exclusive boutique located in the center of Lugano since 1935. Many years have passed but some furnishings, original from the 1930s, are still part of this historic shop.
Over the years there have been many illustrious customers of this shop: Hermann Hesse and Thomas Mann (both Nobel Prize winners), the piano player Wilheöm Backhaus (honorary citizen of Lugano), the Chinese writer and translator Lin Yutang, the famous orchestra director Bruno Walter and the great Hungarian chart Imre Reiner.
In 2022, the 145th anniversary of Hermann Hesse’s birth is celebrated. Siddhartha’s first publication, 100 years ago, is also celebrated.
Every day, this historic shop, located in Via Nassa 21 under the arcades, is a destination for guided tours.
In the Wega boutique, one of the oldest in the city, it is possible to find a vast assortment of Rossi 1931 branded products.
